Welcome to Penrith City Library. The Penrith City Library system
is comprised of the Central Library at Penrith and four branch
libraries at St Marys, St Clair, South Penrith & Emu Plains.
The Library serves a population of 172,397 spread over some
407 square kilometres. Today the collection consists of more
than 290,000 physical items, including books, dvds, cds and magazines.
There is also a range of online resources accessible from both the library
and from home 24/7 via the library catalogue,

Mission
Statement
The Library's mission is to implement
Council's strategy and program. It will do this through skilled
and responsive management, by valuing its staff, partnerships
and community involvement, by providing quality customer service
and upholding ethical standards of behaviour.

Borrowing
from the Library
- You must carry your Library Card to borrow at all times.
Members are responsible for all loans issued on their Card.
- Members are welcome to borrow & return items at all
branches of the Library (see listing and addresses over
page).
- Self-serve checkout is available at Penrith, St Marys
& St Clair.
- A total of 10 items may be borrowed at one time.
- Gold Card members may borrow 20 items at one time.
- Borrowing period is 3 weeks [except Magazines & DVDs
1 week] - items not on reserve may be renewed twice.
- Penalties for the late return, loss or damaging of items
may include fines, full replacement cost of items, withdrawal
of borrowing privileges or banning from the Library.
- Reference books, Local Studies
and Technical Library material are strictly Not For Loan.

Membership
Rules
- Borrowing & many special services are only available
to Library Members.
- Everyone is welcome to join the Library - ID including
name & current address is required. An annual fee of
$20.00 or $15.00 concessional membership applies to non-local members.
- Children under 16 Years require an adult guarantor who
is responsible for all use of the Card.
- The Card is not transferable to other persons and remains
the property of Penrith City Library.
- The Library must be notified immediately if you lose the
card or change name/address.
- There is a $5.00 replacement fee for lost or damaged library
cards.
- All users are subject to the authority of the Librarian
on Library premises.
- There are no age restrictions on the availability of any
displayed material or Library service [including Internet
access & computer services]
- The Library requires a regular check of current member
details.
- Members may check their own record and reserve or renew
items via the MyLibrary facility on the library catalogue

- Value can be added to the Library Card to pay for Internet access,
photocopying & printing.
